In Istanbul a bridge across the Dardanelles will be built
Turkish authorities expect to facilitate the transport situation in Istanbul with a new bridge across the Dardanelles. As planned by the Minister of Transport, Communication and navigation country Lutfi Elvan, thanks to the construction of a new ferry around the Marmara region is formed Ring Road.
The width of the strait between the Marmara and Aegean seas is at the narrowest section of 1.2 km. The new bridge is planned to build from the city in the province of Balikesir Lapseki to Gallipoli in the province of Çanakkale and associate it with the route Istanbul - Izmir.
The length of the new crossing will be approximately 3.7 km.
